Rothesay Pavilion Charity

Rothesay Pavilion charity was set up in 2014 to partner with Argyll and Bute Council in delivering the restoration of Rothesay Pavilion. Chaired by Dr Nick Merriman, Director of Manchester Museum, who owns a house on the island, the Board of Trustees comprises business professionals, charity workers, and art practitioners from Bute and the nearby mainland. The charity are co-grantees with the local authority and on completion of the restoration will take over the management and programming of the Pavilion.

We will reimagine and reinvent Rothesay Pavilion as Scotland’s island ‘pleasure palace’ for the 21st century; celebrating our history and honouring our original purpose as a place of entertainment and delight for the people of Bute and visitors to the island.
